Boesch 580 Acapulco de Luxe - first restoration after 40 years

Discovered in a barn close to Zurich this Boesch 580 Acapulco de Luxe built in 1970 was recently, after having set a new benchmark in quality and attention to detail in her restoration, handed over to its new owner. Just after arriving at the repair shop it was quickly recognised that the Boesch 580 was going to need a complete restoration. The bottom and the deck had been taken of and replaced in Boesch original manner by laminated mahogany wood. The stern needed also a full replanking. After applying the mahogany tint on the raw wood, the first step was to apply 6 layers of Epoxy varnish and in further steps 8 coats of anti-UV varnish. Including all sanding processes the varnishing workshop was managing 28 work steps. All upholstery had carefully been renewed. The original Boesch speedometers and gauges have been restored by a highly skilled Swiss watchmaker as they can no longer be found. All in all a master piece of Swiss craftsmanship by Boesch Classic Boats.
